You don't have to start a call to action like that in a public plurk though. This is in response to the new security law that was passed by China on June 30 in Hong Kong to target the protests that's going on. And Plurk has Hong Kong (and Taiwanese) users who are pro-protests so they're expressing their stance. (as did Google, Facebook, Whatsapp, etc)
I mean use the backups if you want. It's great for keeping a record of your plurks but there's no need for paranoia.
mainland China likes to think they have control over Taiwan, but they don't. they are two seperate nations, and considering a LOT of foreign nations are standing up for HK, plurk would be incredibly low on the list to retaliate against, before Taiwan laughs at them.

The threat to the 1 party 2 systems that the extradition bill was seen as. The national security law has a lot from that bill that erupted the protests originally in removing HK autonomy to manage and persecute their own crimes in their own system.
(and there's the whole nonsense about penalizing people's actions when they're in another country entirely)
ANYWAY I support Plurk's stance in deciding not to cooperate with authorities to persecute speech. Plurk is much closer to the reality of that whole situation than any of us in the US and I'm sure they're decisions are based on their own experiences and morals and not because some neo-nazi in Europe said it was good.
