it's Santa Lucia Day on Saturday and of course nobody is going to celebrate it in this building. but I think I will make a bunch of krumkake, pepparkakor and havreflarn for folks anyway.

I got Nora a window perch that puts her up higher than any place else other than when she gets on top of the china cabinet. I may never see her again.

She's mad for watching the birds and just flehmening away. Also, it's fleece.

Nora unplugged my phone and knocked it under the bed where I cannot reach it. I have to wait until a friend comes over to help me remove the mattress and boxspring (boxspring is so heavy) but the Continuous Glucose Alarm keeps going off. I can check my glucose, but it's amusing hearing the alarm. Five blasts and it stop but it keeeps going.

When I took this picture I asked Nora if she could possibly be any cuter. Her response follows.

My great-grandniece's 12-year-old classmate committed suicide. I don't know the child, but my heart hurts that someone so young felt such despair.

Somehow I cannot imagine my elementary school dealing well with this to prevent contagion.

Nora has expensive taste in toys.

My version of a feta bake. a can of cannelloni beans, drained and rinsed. then a bag of frozen lima beans, some grape tomatoes and feta, plus some crushed garlic cloves. for reheating leftovers I added an over easy egg.

Remember my great-nephew who attempted suicide in September and was on a ventilator? They removed the ventilator and he was breathing on his own but he never regained consciousness. Now, two months later, he has passed away. This is one time death is an unequivocal blessing.
