Login • Instagram[gbadamosi] In 2014, just before
#EricGarner died his last words to police officers were "I cant breathe". Today, 6 years later, another black man couldn't breathe and subsequently died, after having his neck kneed for 5 whole minutes by an Officer. All while handcuffed and defencellesly lying on the ground.
The fact that this month alone
shirien.creates has had to make three of these illustrations is incredibly painful. No one wants to come on social media and share these things, but silence only enables the perpetrators.
These aren't just hashtags, they are very real human lives that are needlessly and relentlessly being brutally murdered.
Rest in Peace ❤

Black people didn’t start this problem, so it’s going to take all of us speaking up, voting, demanding reform & better training in our local police stations. There are good police & there are bad. We can’t let the bad get away with this anymore!

Floyd's family has called for the responding officers, who were fired, to be charged with murder.
As dusk fell on Wednesday, police formed a barricade around the 3rd Police Precinct, where protesters had smashed windows and spray-painted over a security camera at the entrance.
In these photographs: a protester holds up his hands during a demonstration outside the precinct; protesters shield themselves during a clash; a young Somali-American man receives medical care; a formation of officers, with face masks and batons, near protesters outside the precinct; and an injured woman is carried away.
