Back at home, he slept on his couch cushion all afternoon in sunpuddles. I kept scooting his cushion around to follow the suns' rays. And tonight he ate almost a full helping of dry food, and some treats.

He didn't want his usual one spoonful of watered down canned food. But what he did eat was super-good progress from where he was. Now he's taking a bath, and stretching his leg up in the air like a champ!

Did the vet check him out?

And has he pooped or peed?

the vet did a cursory check. she wanted to see if he improved from the shot before going further. he's peed, but needs a poop.

Peeing is good, his kidneys are working. If he hasn't pooped by tomorrow call the vet and ask about checking him for an impaction.

I've done rectal exams on dogs and people, but not crazy enough to try it on a cat.

Fogwoman: yeah, that would be .. an adventure. since he finally ate almost a full meal tonight I'm hoping for some poop in the morning! we're about to go to sleep, he's curled up on my legs, purring like crazy. been a big day for him.
