Time for another comics plurk~ As a sidenote, I've added a link to the index on my profile, if anyone wanted to reread past ones. Now. Today we cover stories involving Cousin Douglas, an obscure character and relative of Scrooge's from Danish stories.
And yes, this is where I mention that Douglas looks frighteningly like Klondike Scrooge. Which is one of my favorite things honestly, because it always looks like Scrooge is fighting with himself >.> BUT ANYWAY. If you though Scrooge was the stingiest, most miserly McDuck? You were wrong.
So Scrooge uses one pest to take care of another pest to take care of another pest, and the ducks, I try to figure how much I'd have to pay David Tennant to say "GEN-YOO-WINE ARTICLE" in Scrooge's voice, and the boys start home. But what of the dime debt?
So we end Douglas's first story, which establishes a few things. He's a prospector who wouldn't know gold from flecks of yellow paint, and is stingy and combative as hell. This'll come back in the third story but first, a 3-pager gag as a breather.
This is Two For One, which originated in Denmark in 2016 and was printed in America this year, in the modern Uncle Scrooge line, number 23. Which, being a comic currently in print, I'm going to encourage buying and supporting. ...Even though I just linked an online version, yes 8|;
I tell you what, cropping Scrooge's face in that last panel for an icon was interesting, to say the least >.> But yes, now we move on to the third and last one, and my personal favorite of the bunch X3
This is Smarter Than the Toughies, first printed in Denmark in 2004, printed in the USA in 2006 in U$ 349. I may do this cover story someday, but as for this story it also features Whitewater (or Lumberjack) Duck, a distant relative of Donald's.
Donald and Scrooge are up in the Klondike for business when they run into- literally -Douglas, with Whitewater right behind. Naturally it doesn't take the two misers long to start arguing, and another competition arises, this time actually being put on by Dawson.
So there's a look at a random McDuck for you (two random relatives if you count Whitewater). He hasn't appeared in many stories, even in Denmark, so he's not as well-represented as some other "alternate relatives" but at least we've got a few that show him off~
It's not going to be a comics plurk of its own but sometime in the future I want to talk about some other unknowns/obscure relatives, like Gideon mentioned above, and Dickie Duck. (well, the jury is out on "relative" for her, BUT) Hell, I might even toss in talk of lesser-known(?) rival Rockerduck if I feel like it XD
