Be very careful when investigating options. Many of the free ones are covers for malware, especially the online ones.

Use C|Net or another reputable review site to determine what's legit and what isn't.

cnet quite a bit. My favorite anti-mal-ware programs are adaware and spybot.

Those are good ones.
