I’ve mentioned the idea before of playing a bound demon in a valor game

They are shackled by magic that compels them to obey another specific PC

That PC takes malevolent entity as a flaw, and if they fail an ME check the demons slips feom their control and gets to start killing PCs

But I thought of another level of fun for this

Use valor’s delayed levelup rules

The demon’s level cap is one higher than the rest of the party

But they don’t get to choose when they get to cash stored levels out

The character holding their leash does

So now it’s more responsibility on them

You can control the demon right now pretty reliably because it’s two levels lower than you

But this fight is getting really hard

And you’re not sure if you can win without the whole team pulling out all the stops

Do you want to maybe loosen your control JUST a hair?

Let the demon use a bit more of its true power?

What’s the worst that could happen?

I had a character planned with a similar gimmick in later arcs of Iterator

Is that worse than letting this upstart wannabe demon lord kill us all?
