It looks like I'm going to be promoting my new assistant manager, whom I've had for only a month, to management.

because my previous assistant manager, who I promoted a month ago, has been arrested at his store location for assault and has promptly been terminated.

A promising sign for me that my stores are doing well enough that they keep wanting to promote my ASMs, but uuuuuhhhhhhh

....

Now, how am I going to break that sort of news to my staff, who all knew and worked with my previous ASM, before telling my current ASM that he now gets his job is a whole other interesting ordeal

Additionally, according to the director of the sales department, he will be making another (apparently good) call specifically to me at the beginning of January.

I feel like it's either a raise or a promotion. But I don't wanna get my hopes too high

since this is a newer very quickly growing company

pretty much. I'm going to hold off on any major information unless it is asked directly. the less detail to such a personal matter the better I feel, but if it leads to escalation or speculation I'll just be blunt yet professional with it

of course the ASM I'm promoting will get some more detail before he hears about it from his new associates
