the pain perdu is brioche bread soaked in egg with a bit of cinnamon in., then fried up. Then each side gets a slice of swiss cheese, followed by one or two slices of ham or turkey on each side (not mixing meats, ham on one side, turkey on the other), followed by another slice of swiss on top on each side.

bake at 400 for five minutes to get the meat warmes
and the cheese melty, flip, and serve. powdered sugar and raspberry preserves optional.
