Our family subscription account on Netflix changed password, after which my profile got removed from the membership. Is there a way to restore my profile or should I create a new one?

Oh that happened because of the policy change some time back, right? If you apply for a family extension thingamajig you can transfer your profile to the new account Extra Members

Yeah I guess it had to do with their new policy on password sharing. Every damn changes happening to the account will trigger a prompt for login or updating of household, which requires a code sent to the account owner

I wonder why Netflix won't just adopt Spotify's model of allowing other accounts to be joined to the family subscription owner

That would remove the necessity to share password with your family members

You can, but only if the account where you were a member has Profile Transfer on (it should be on automatically if it was implemented in your region). You have to transfer the Profile from account settings. I have never used it myself as I am a family account owner, but it should be seamless. https://images.plurk.com/2jYSeyQo1veqMFW6Zgq7p2.png

That's what I've been trying to do. I have a separate account that I'd like to transfer to the family account but alas, I can't access my account! Netflix says my password is either wrong or my account doesn't exist. And when I tried to sign-up my email address, they now say my account already exists!

I don't have that much activity on that account anyway when I was able to access it but I wanna use it to build a profile history and watchlist for future cases when unfortunate instances like this happen, as I'm not the family account owner

I'm also wondering why other profiles got restored after the family owner changed password but only mine wasn't restored hmm 🤔

Also, I found out that the only way you can restore a deleted profile is by contacting their customer service, which is really a stretch and a hassle

That's weird. I guess all you can do right now is contacting their customer service. It's a hassle anyway, but with paid service, it bounds to be that anyway. Just make sure to contact them in PST work hours so you don't wait too long.
