i did but you've missed my name - there must be a mistake :> :-o
  • AZJazzyJ
understands the concept but believes that Web 2.0 changes the playing field of who may be viewed as a VIP.
  • johnrhopkins asks
AZJazzyJ How do you figure? I have some W2.0 heroes, but I can't see them being important to more than a very niche audience.
  • ArminaX
wonders if anyone has interests that cross over all those ppl?
  • liamvictor says
Mia Farrow but not Gordon Brown, Nicolas Sarkozy, Horst Koehler... ?
  • johnrhopkins says
Send Guy links to blogs that you think should be there! He is super quick and always open to suggestions.
  • johnrhopkins says
Not sure, but on Twitter he is VERY active but in spurts. If he is on the left coast, I hopefully he is luck enough to still be asleep.
  • johnrhopkins hates
that he can't correct Plurk replies. DOH!
  • ☼ Mike ☽ wants
to correct and delete Plurk responses
  • johnrhopkins says
Guy is awake, he hits twitter first :-)
  • AZJazzyJ
understands johnrhopkins but sees this evolving into people being able to identify who is a VIP to them.
  • AZJazzyJ wants
Alltop to become an avenue where I can decide who is important and have it search to find people meeting my criteria. A personal aggregator.
  • Guykawasaki says
Honestly, I find the Plurk timeline very hard to use.
  • Guykawasaki says
On the other hand, Replies in Twitter is down.
  • AZJazzyJ asks
if Guykawasaki tried the mobile plurk page that lays out more like Twitter?
  • ArminaX
prefers the Plurk display, but thinks it requires some use before you get comfy with it. Now MUCH faster than twitter for me
  • LindaZ
Guy once you spend some time here and get used to using the mute and mark all as read buttons it is quite easy
  • Stagekid asks
    what's "mute"?
  • LindaZ
much easier here to have a complete conversation... not really possible at twitter specially since the replies are not visible and you...
  • LindaZ
cannot go back and read the timeline (backwards I might add)
  • LindaZ
also that drowning whale is really sickly
  • LindaZ
and I love and miss my tweeples and tweets
  • DebInAustin says
I think at first the timeline is confusing, but you get used to it. And I like how it facilitates conversation threads.
  • MackCollier says
Guy I noticed that 4 of your first 8 Plurks are promoting alltop. Please understand that Plurk users enjoy conversation here, not promotion
  • MackCollier says
we hope you'll be here to join the many robust conversations, we can find the link to alltop from your profile.
  • johnrhopkins is
not too bothered by the alltop promos, its a place to find things to converse about and places to do it. Participation is expected though.
  • Guykawasaki
MarkCollier: I won't be here long then. :-)
  • MackCollier says
then let me hold the door open for you.
  • seerysm asks
GuyKawasaki are you not interested in participation for time reasons or not enough interest in the community?
  • Te-ge says
you expect followers when you're not willing to participate? That doesn't make a lot of sense on a conversational site.
  • AllanCockerill thinks
it's time to take a deep breath... web 2.0 is about interaction - promotion is fine, but conversation is essential...
  • AllanCockerill says
Alltop is a great concept, so is Plurk, and there is a community developing here very quickly...
  • AllanCockerill says
being seen to be guilty of misusing any community on or offline comes with the danger of an adverse reaction...
  • puresurplus thinks
this is so suspenseful...which hand will guy choose? *jeopardy music*
