hey. I am out here in the front lines of the burbs and many of us are only just above poverty level.

sometimes we are kept there because daycare costs so much, that we can't earn enough to make it worthwhile for both parents to work.

A great book to read is "Nickel and Dimed" by Barbara Ehrenreich...some cases of the working poor just eking a living just to get by. :-S

so we got a lot of women working as waitresses or nannies (under the table) or working the night shift after their husbands come home.
