| Boy Lane | replurks jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12977 That's important folks. Please vote! |
| Boy Lane | says | some very good comments in there |
| Boy Lane | says | it's a technical issue, and one that can easily be implemented, contrary what that marketing linden said...blondin |
| x* Lil | says | I'd call it only fair game... if PG folks get their wish fulfilled to block adult content, why shouldn't adults be allowed to block PG? |
| Boy Lane | says | it's much more dangerous than that, you tp by mistake nakkied or with toys into a PG place you found in search |
| Boy Lane | and you get ARed and banned for that "mistake" |
| Boy Lane | all which would not have happend if there would be a way to block PG from appearing in search |
| x* Lil | says | But... but.... but ... but that would reduce the numbers of ARs the GTeam may handle. How do you dare to prevent them from working? |
| Boy Lane | says | the AR flood is just to start |
| Boy Lane | if they really implement that |
| Boy Lane | as it is |
| x* Lil | says | ((I know, but I switched to being sarcastic about the whole "plans")) |
| Boy Lane | says | I would be happy to be permanently flagged as adult and banned from all PG only places to come |
| x* Lil | says | Yeah, but we're adults, LL won't listen to us. |
| Boy Lane | laughs |
| x* Lil | says | Here's some candy |
| x* Lil | says | *gnarl* Google Images not loading in time. |
| Kalle C. | i also wants to be banned from all pg places in sl, would be the best solution. |
| Boy Lane | says | great posting in jira Misty! |
| Rika | just posted too. |
| Rika | I expect they aren't doing it though. Something really horrid has to be going on inside LL in terms of code... |
| Boy Lane | says | great comment! thanks! |
| Boy Lane | says | as I wrote somewhere else, this will likely go down the same drain as openspaces/homesteads |
| Rika | Obviously. Well, I IMed that to you inworld, but here's an idea for a togglable feature: |
| Rika | 1. Have the viewer record the current sim on every teleport. |
| Rika | 2. When the sim being logged into does not match the sim last recorded, and doesn't match the sim selected on login, |
| Rika | ...put up an 'Are you sure?' dialog with the name and the rating of the sim being actually logged into. Abort login upon a 'No'. |
| Boy Lane | hmmm...think that can be done easily, but LL said they would take care of that |
| Boy Lane | so the check would be if current and new sim are on the same rating |
| Boy Lane | says | I dont think that is too difficult to implement either |
| Boy Lane | thinks | all these LL arguments are nonsense |
| Rika | Regardless of what LL *said* about taking care of that, it may easily end up that taking care will happen in the indeterminate future. |
| Boy Lane | yep |
| Rika | We have the viewer code to play with and it's our only chance to get things done. I say we should try. |
| Boy Lane | says | shame that we have to think about a fix for that |
| Boy Lane | is | really pissed off once again about LL |
| Rika | At least, I think I'll finally try to set up the build environment myself and see if there's any good *I* can do... |
| Boy Lane | thinks | this should become it's own Jira |
| Boy Lane | they need to be whacked hard |
| Rika | We cannot wait for bounties from LL, but our task is to take them. |
| Rika | Doing it ourselves will in most instances end up cheaper. |
| Boy Lane | says | of course they wont care, but they and everybody else should see it |
| Boy Lane | happening in their courtyard |
| Rika | That's the mistake. There is no "They". The faceless entity doesn't care and the individual people think it's the entity's problem. |
| Boy Lane | says | I will look into the filter thing, perhaps thats the easiest and fastest to implement |
| Boy Lane | needs | to figure out how sims/parcels are flagged |
| Boy Lane | then this could simply not show them in the list |
| Boy Lane | without any claimed change in the server code |
| Rika | Well, you can't remove them from the html-based search clientisde. |
| Rika | But once you know the sim's UUID, it's definitely possible to request it's rating directly and prevent teleporting. |
| Boy Lane | says | CV doesn't use html in general |
| Boy Lane | *search |
| Boy Lane | but you're right, still it would pop up |
| Υπατίαα | yeah, they ignored homesteads too, but I think this one is gonna cost dearly in a few years, if they don't monetize content |
| Υπατίαα | so far they haven't tried to deal with what the corps really want - its just more land sales of mainland with fat excuses. |
| Rika | It's still costing dearly, but mostly, costing *us* dearly. LL won't notice until autumn. |
| Υπατίαα | yea... they wont notice tillt he corps are all running opensim and buying their content on amazon |
| Boy Lane | thinks | something fast has to be done |
| Boy Lane | to prove them wrong |
| Rika | Proof will be ignored. |
| Boy Lane | says | the html search is not helping with that |
| Rika | Can you hook greasemonkey into the inworld browser? |
| Υπατίαα | By the time LL has realised its fucked, it will be closed like Geocities was... I'll just ride it out I guess. |
| Boy Lane | says | its some mozilla code |
| Rika | Yes, it's mozilla 2.0-something to be specific, which is why I think it should be possible. If it is, there's a lot you can do. |
| Boy Lane | is | going to ask Chalice for help, she digged into this earlier and perhaps has some idea |
| Boy Lane | says | mail is out |
| Boy Lane | says | one more |
| x* Lil | says | I admire the spirit of you guys to keep working strong even though LL keeps f*cking up. |
