I voted, thus I have room to complain if not happy with something.
  • AndyTSDC says
Unfortunately, free speech has no voting requirement. No thinking requirement, either.
  • AndyTSDC says
Case in point: most of those who will vote for Romney in this election are the very people he has flat out said he doesn't care about.
  • AndyTSDC says
His wife referred to them as "you people". He was recorded saying they are moochers. But they are the ones who are on unemployment, voting for him because they think he cares to get them jobs.
  • JigmeDatse
The scary thing is that yes, they know that he doesn't care about him, but they still believe his lies over his truth telling.
  • AndyTSDC says
He is an excellent salesman, I'll give him that.
  • JigmeDatse
Explains a lot of things, people believe excellent salesmen, even when it's obvious they are being sold a bill of goods.
  • Snupnjake
doesn't think Obama cares about the moochers either
  • AndyTSDC says
you've got to be kidding with that statement. Given his upbringing, you might be right, but he wouldn't call them moochers. He'd call them Americans trying to improve their lives.
  • AndyTSDC says
No one should care about those who truly mooch. The key difference is that Romney thinks everything gov. does to help anyone is a mooching program.
  • Snupnjake
but what makes someone truly a mooch versus someone who is a victim of circumstance
  • AndyTSDC says
You can judge a society by how they take care of their neediest citizens. The problem with lots of conservatives is that they think anyone who needs help is an idiot who deserves what they get.
  • Snupnjake
knows liberals like that as well
  • AndyTSDC says
What, 1% of liberals hold that view vs. 90% of staunch conservatives? OK. I'll buy that.
  • AndyTSDC says
If you can't get a job when you get out of jail because you robbed a bank and shot someone, you kind of deserve that.
  • AndyTSDC says
But if you can't get health insurance because you got dropped when you got sick and they didn't want to pay, you lose everything because of bills, I don't think that's mooching.
  • AndyTSDC says
Single moms who got out of abusive relationships and need food stamps and college loans aren't mooching.
  • AndyTSDC says
And I've NEVER heard a liberal who would classify them as such, whereas most of my conservative friends would say "too bad. work harder"
  • Lion Queen says
Passionate, stereotypicalism is just not compelling.
  • AndyTSDC says
It doesn't have to be if it's true. How many times did we hear Rep. apologizing this year alone for letting their true opinions slip out when they were on camera? Oops.
  • Lion Queen says
Don't confuse truth w/opinion. How many times can we say the same for Libs! OMG, I've heard doosies. What foolishness. They are all rich. They are all power driven. Just becuz someone touts feeling ur pain...
  • Lion Queen says
doesn't mean they're sincere, Lib, Dem, Teaparty, Liberterian, whatever. Most of the time they aren't. They want ur money & control. How naiive it is to think any side is better than the other. The delivery is
  • Lion Queen says
different. The pace may be slower; the storyline make tug at the heartstrings...but it's not better. And Prez BO himself has done his share of camera/mic faus pas...& he's far from the only one. Politicians are
  • Lion Queen says
just as stupid as anyone else.
  • AndyTSDC says
Surely you aren't trying to say BO and MR are coming from the same place. Given their backgrounds, that would be a very naive statement.
  • AndyTSDC says
I don't think it is possible to understand some of the problems when you come from money the way MR did. I think he's a good guy who truly wants to do right by America, I just think he comes from another world
  • Snupnjake
does it really matter what the starting place is when the end point is still the same?
  • AndyTSDC says
Yes, it matters. You never forget the struggle.
  • Snupnjake has
a hard time believing Obama struggled all that hard going to Harvard
  • AndyTSDC says
He didn't land at Harvard by accident. He had to work to get there. His parents weren't millionaires.
  • AndyTSDC says
Was Romney's family ever on food stamps? Did they need loans to send their sons to school?
  • AndyTSDC says
Having 5 sons is expensive. Maybe they had to sell one of their houses. Oh, the hardship!
  • Snupnjake thinks
    he has forgotten the struggle.
  • Snupnjake
well. It matters not now. The people have spoken.
  • AndyTSDC says
What about his decisions would lead you to believe he has forgotten the struggle? His policies don't indicate that.
  • AndyTSDC says
Personally, I'm just thankful to live in a country where we can have these debates. I love America, and Americans, and I appreciate all of the differing viewpoints in the debate here. Thanks for your insight!
  • AndyTSDC says
It will be interesting to see how the parties react to the obvious demographic changes that had a big impact on this election.
  • AndyTSDC says
I don't think anyone knows for sure why the main demographic for the Rep. ticket was older white men. Policy? Ideology? Who knows. Good debates on both sides to come.
  • AndyTSDC says
It certainly didn't help that a couple of people made the whole party look bad with ignorant statements about rape. I know that isn't the view held by most.
  • Snupnjake
coming from the state that spawned Aikin...ugh ugh ugh
  • Snupnjake
Race to the Top comes to mind...
  • Snupnjake
    all this focus on Obamacare
  • Snupnjake
not that I don't think we need health care reform...but this is not it
  • Metsoskil
I have been a Republican my entire adult life. I believe in smaller government and individual freedom. Nothing that my party has done in the past 12 yrs. leads me to think they still believe that also.
  • Snupnjake
I don't see the economy truly improving
  • Metsoskil
Everything they do makes me think that they are a party about retaining/increasing the power of rich white guys.
  • AndyTSDC says
The economy is a sour subject, but do you really think it would have magically improved any faster under anyone else? None of the experts do.
  • AndyTSDC says
And health care reform complaints from the party who wanted it initially don't hold much water, either. That sounds like partisan bickering, complaining just because it was a democrat who got it passed.
  • AndyTSDC says
In all fairness, if Republicans had passed it first, Dems would whine. I am behind reform of any kind in health care. It needs to be tweaked, sure, but at least it got started
  • JigmeDatse
Um, there aren't 17 articles of the US Constitution.
  • ๒เtςђςгคŦt
Speaking as a voter, that's a pretty dickish thing to say. Sure, it sucks if people don't/can't vote, but you know what?
  • ๒เtςђςгคŦt
They still live here and they still have a right to their opinion, even if we disagree.
  • Metsoskil
featherine: The person who starts swearing first usually loses the arguement. But, you are entitled to your opinion and
    free to disagree with me.
  • ๒เtςђςгคŦt
Oh, no, I used a curse in relation to describing an action. Furthermore, I'm hardly arguing, just pointing something out.
  • Lion Queen says
AndyTSDC: The substance of the policies is MUCH MORE important than their life struggles. Will their policies work! I don't care if they were/are poor; were/are rich. Obama is not poor now. His brother still
  • Lion Queen says
sits in Africa in a hut w/ a less than $100/yr income. Doesn't feel like he's feeling his own brother's pain. He certainly doesn't feel ours. No politician does. They feel ur votes.
  • cve4me says
1 voice gets lost between the stamping of fists. (angry)
