His wife referred to them as "you people". He was recorded saying they are moochers. But they are the ones who are on unemployment, voting for him because they think he cares to get them jobs.
you've got to be kidding with that statement. Given his upbringing, you might be right, but he wouldn't call them moochers. He'd call them Americans trying to improve their lives.
You can judge a society by how they take care of their neediest citizens. The problem with lots of conservatives is that they think anyone who needs help is an idiot who deserves what they get.
But if you can't get health insurance because you got dropped when you got sick and they didn't want to pay, you lose everything because of bills, I don't think that's mooching.
It doesn't have to be if it's true. How many times did we hear Rep. apologizing this year alone for letting their true opinions slip out when they were on camera? Oops.
Don't confuse truth w/opinion. How many times can we say the same for Libs! OMG, I've heard doosies. What foolishness. They are all rich. They are all power driven. Just becuz someone touts feeling ur pain...
doesn't mean they're sincere, Lib, Dem, Teaparty, Liberterian, whatever. Most of the time they aren't. They want ur money & control. How naiive it is to think any side is better than the other. The delivery is
different. The pace may be slower; the storyline make tug at the heartstrings...but it's not better. And Prez BO himself has done his share of camera/mic faus pas...& he's far from the only one. Politicians are
I don't think it is possible to understand some of the problems when you come from money the way MR did. I think he's a good guy who truly wants to do right by America, I just think he comes from another world
Personally, I'm just thankful to live in a country where we can have these debates. I love America, and Americans, and I appreciate all of the differing viewpoints in the debate here. Thanks for your insight!
I don't think anyone knows for sure why the main demographic for the Rep. ticket was older white men. Policy? Ideology? Who knows. Good debates on both sides to come.
It certainly didn't help that a couple of people made the whole party look bad with ignorant statements about rape. I know that isn't the view held by most.
I have been a Republican my entire adult life. I believe in smaller government and individual freedom. Nothing that my party has done in the past 12 yrs. leads me to think they still believe that also.
And health care reform complaints from the party who wanted it initially don't hold much water, either. That sounds like partisan bickering, complaining just because it was a democrat who got it passed.
In all fairness, if Republicans had passed it first, Dems would whine. I am behind reform of any kind in health care. It needs to be tweaked, sure, but at least it got started
AndyTSDC: The substance of the policies is MUCH MORE important than their life struggles. Will their policies work! I don't care if they were/are poor; were/are rich. Obama is not poor now. His brother still
sits in Africa in a hut w/ a less than $100/yr income. Doesn't feel like he's feeling his own brother's pain. He certainly doesn't feel ours. No politician does. They feel ur votes.
