I don't understand why people would register domain names for $20 or $30 when they could get exact same ones for under $10?

  Registrars are essentially brokers between customers and the "phone book" of the net - once the sale is made they should be out of your life

  Ahah true but GoDaddy uses that ICANN badge to really bulldoze people if it suits them - never heard of another registrar who acts like them

  It's true some people have used them for years, no problems, but I'll personally throw in a couple extra bucks for peace of mind
