claudia10 needs Oct 30, 2008 12:49AM a new foundation. Any good recommendation? For super oily n yet dry skin!
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 04:51PM try BB cream. Some formulas can control oil and protects from drying
claudia10 asks Oct 29, 2008 04:51PM what's the different/ benefits of mineral makeup? its like so hot these days.
WendYღ says Oct 29, 2008 04:51PM BB cream ehh is like a sunscreen, moisturiser, primer... a lot of things in 1. Korean actresses use it.
|||Sylv||| says Oct 29, 2008 04:52PM i use oriflame giordani gold foundation. has been with it since i was young. it's good!
WendYღ thinks Oct 29, 2008 04:52PM mineral makeup may be suitable for your oily skin. Liquid type foundations may oxidise too fast.
claudia10 wants Oct 29, 2008 04:54PM a compact instead of liquid. so i can plaster it anywhere i am when i need it.
WendYღ says Oct 29, 2008 04:55PM Technically compact is not foundation. It's like compressed loose powder (if I'm not wrong)... but also can lah.
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 04:56PM there is also rojukiss at watson (i'm using that) as well as the lioelle brand - there is the 8 dollar mini size
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 04:57PM personally i think its good to get sample sizes rather than getting full size.
claudia10 says Oct 29, 2008 04:58PM yes! sample size is good! esp when I only use makeup like once in a month! haha
WendYღ says Oct 29, 2008 04:58PM Yah molemole's suggestion also gd. Get an oil-controlling makeup base or cream lo.
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 05:00PM lioelle has their original BB cream in full size as well as sample size. Sample size is $8
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 05:00PM i have the sample size lioelle, but i dont fancy it very much, I much prefer rojukiss
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 05:01PM i bet a lot of girls are selling away the mushroom bb cream in cozycot or livejournal
|||Sylv||| says Oct 29, 2008 05:01PM haha coz oriflame has many brands under the umbrella, claudia10 . mine is the giordani gold "sub-brand"
claudia10 says Oct 29, 2008 05:02PM i don't dare buy makeup from 3rd party leh. cos not sure if used/ if any special ingredients added or not. :S
claudia10 says Oct 29, 2008 05:03PM damn! i shld have bought while john little was having their 20% off lah! over liao!
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 05:03PM claudia : I guess they are the type who tries once and then dont like
claudia10 says Oct 29, 2008 05:05PM rinaz but that's the problem, cosmetics are something personal. even if used only once, its still used. :S
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 05:12PM $39. But please dont fall under the impression that bb cream is a magic cream. Its main function is to heal skin
claudia10 says Oct 29, 2008 05:21PM haha! I know! There's nothing that's magic. I just want to experiment and try. thanks rinaz!
Pat Law™ says Oct 29, 2008 05:44PM ZA. Trust me and my beauty experience on this. And ZA wasn't my client.
Pat Law™ says Oct 29, 2008 05:45PM MAC too. But MAC works only when you don't powder up for the second time.
Pat Law™ says Oct 29, 2008 05:45PM And when you powder up, please make sure you wipe your face clean off previous layer of foundation.
Pat Law™ says Oct 29, 2008 05:46PM Or you'd be clogging your pores, which encourages bacteria to grow beneath, and that leads to acne, black heads, etc.
Pat Law™ says Oct 29, 2008 05:46PM Plus it widens your pores up, so when you squeeze the dirt out, you get open pores.
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 05:51PM ZA is good brand. Have liked it a lot during school days. Wish they had more colours for darker skin tone tho
WendYღ likes Oct 29, 2008 05:52PM ZA also. Their concealer is THE BEST. Tried a lot of other brands, none beat ZA's one.
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 05:55PM Actually I like Everyday Minerals. Its good for controlling oily skin, but all (true) mineral make up is drying. Thats why I recco using bb
Jurong Girl Oct 29, 2008 05:55PM I donno. Every woman is different. I guess we can all give you recommendations but what works for us might not be the best for you
|||Sylv||| says Oct 29, 2008 05:56PM wah ZA seems so good. not using it though. my boyfriend does! wahaha
ѠιѕĥßøƝę thinks Oct 30, 2008 12:36AM the best part about mineral makeup is that no touch up is needed
Jurong Girl Oct 30, 2008 01:07AM But then again claudia has dry skin so I really recommend her a good base if she wants to try mineral mekap
Mintea says Oct 30, 2008 02:36AM oily but dry skin. make sure you use a water based moisturiser and oil free foundation. try not to get the liquid ones coz it's not great
claudia10 says Oct 30, 2008 04:45AM wow!! thanks ladies! And I didn't know ZA is that good leh. Always thought its more suitable for the teens only.
claudia10 says Oct 30, 2008 04:46AM will go search around for bb cream and try to find suitable foundations for me. hope i'll start to cultivate the habit again for makeup.
claudia10 says Oct 30, 2008 04:46AM the thing i hate is the amt of time needed before going out and after coming back. the cleaning back esp! i hate to spoil my skin lah.
