karma is not something to be proud about. Have you not seen the plurkaholics thread?

plurking for the sole purpose of gaining karma is a sad, sad thing. Complaining about Twitter is all the rage these days, though! (s_LOL)
  • gdruckman thinks
that his 54.39 karma points wont matter (g_rock_n_roll)
  • dusty
Karma is based on messages like these.
  • dusty
So, what if you just send short messages back and forth rapid fire with one person, wouldn't you game it?
  • dusty
I suspect they will change it soon.

what's really interesting is that people complain about twitter all the time but still loves it and that people don't leave twitter for good

  • chrisdpratt thinks
it's twitter's simplicity that does it... if I'm on plurk, I find myself doing all sorts of things I probably don't have time for

the idea of a karma rating - as long as it encourages positive community behavior, and not spamming.
  • edsonst thinks
Twitter will be reliable soon... They were not expecting Scoble/Calacanis massive activities... it will be fine !

Plurk = hippy coffee house - smilies, karma, conversation pits. Twitter = neighborhood bar - bare bones & beer not always open for business.
