Ooh, dotlizard, thread dismissal is a WONDERFUL idea!
  • lizard.beer
or maybe to choose to follow certain threads and then filter for only those.
  • ayse
agrees. i'm not involved in every conversation of every follower. once i determine that, it'd be nice to move on.
  • bloggersblog wants
    thread dismissal powers.
  • gm5000 wishes
    for that feature.
  • lizard.beer
i'm torn between dismissal, and only following by choice. but some way of filtering the "new" down to "new i want to read".

so who do we plurk to with our pleas for features? i don't want to be a pest, i love the place, just need a little noise filtration.
  • bloggersblog thinks
if he starts a thread on a subject that bores you, you should be able to hide it - otherwise it will keep popping up and bothering you.
  • ayse wishes
plurk had a suggestions link. otherwise, we'll be bumping up against these ungainly bits for a long time.
  • drdollars says
nah! I want a search function for terms and for friends...
  • lizard.beer
so no one knows how to plurk to the plurktocracy about all things plurkish?
  • lizard.beer
yeah i know that was stretching it.
  • lizard.beer
hmm. well they noticed msaleem's post about it, perhaps i should blog & plurk about it and maybe they'd notice that?
  • lizard.beer
worries that she doesn't have a notable enough blog for that yet
  • codyrobert
any blog is notable enough ;-)
  • lizard.beer
good point. so, any other suggestions of wishes for plurk features?
  • KDFrawg says
There are almost always people from the Plurk team here.
  • codyrobert wishes
for "smart verbs". It'll recognize when you do a freeform verb and add a color that it looks like. :-P It made more sense in my head.
  • Mr Sir BigPapa wishes
for plurk to remember the verbs I use for later (kind of what codyrobert said) :-)
  • KDFrawg says
You know, that would not be too hard to implement. I already have the code in my head...
  • lizard.beer
oh! yes! or special notation that would create special verbs upon request. like ::myverb:: or somesuch.
  • lizard.beer
ok going to keep this thread open & get to blogging in the other window. and if i ping msaleem's post that'll help too.
  • thunderror says
i came on and I had around 168...plurk needs to do some organising on that one...
  • codyrobert says
yes! but the color is the important thing. I want to say: codyrobert laughs about.... but laughs **needs** to be in a neon yellow :-)
  • lizard.beer
ahh. so perhaps something like :myverb: (mycolor).
  • KDFrawg
That's way doable, too. These are GOOD ideas, folks!
  • lizard.beer
ok i'm on it. keep the thoughts coming, i'm blogging in another tab.
  • KDFrawg
We need to work on the filters. They have already thought of the clique to filer people.
  • KDFrawg
But dotlizard's idea of thread filtering is way cool.
  • KDFrawg
How about a checkbox in front of the avatar on the thread that would be checked by default but could be unchecked to ingnore the thread?
  • KDFrawg
Maybe all those years in GUI design were not wasted.
  • lizard.beer
see, i don't want to clique filter. i love all my plurk friends. i just don't love each and every plurk thread.
  • KDFrawg
I'm not sure how I would use the clique filter. I've been pondering it on and off all day. I think you would miss too much that way.
  • ayse thinks
the checkbox is a great idea.
  • KDFrawg
I think the checkbox would work. And it's fairly trivial to code, as well.
  • ayse
and it allows us 2 easily jump back in should we want to by keeping those friends' threads active (as opposed to unfollowing chattier folks)
  • KDFrawg
Yup. It is easily reversible. I really don't see much in the way of a problem with it. Thinking...
  • KDFrawg
Great capture, dotlizard, and well-written. I stumbled it.
