so strange... I've been struggling with a cryptic link error Visual Studio was putting out for a couple hours...

somehow, deleting a *.ilk file solved the problem

it was a "LINK : fatal error LNK1000: Internal error during BuildImage", ExceptionCode = C0000005

anyway... happy I managed, with some help from google searches, to eventually find the fix
