    it turns on, the fans work, the CD rom opens but the screen never gets a signal. :-(

    could be the video card. Can you try it on another monitor?

    had the same problem earlier today. remove ram, then hold power button while computer is unplugged for 15 secs.

    also check the connections, not jus to and from the monitor, but the piece that goes into the system, sometimes it gets loose.

    then install ram and plug in and try it. worked on my laptop.
