what stupid things have you done?
  • Scruffy Bob says
my karma ran over your dogma.
  • mxstone says
yes but the way Karma works those "gamers" will get theirs in the end :-)
  • Scruffy Bob says
and also I created 10 fake scoble accounts and made them all friends. Helloooooo karma!
  • Toby Weston is
trying to "game" the system, but karma wont go up :-(
  • MaartenFM likes
karma. Wish it was realtime though
  • scottph says
you meean like Twittering 300 things a day?
  • MikeonTV feels
just being Robert Scoble is gaming the system! :-)) Thats a compliment btw
  • bloggersblog says
plurk could take friendfeed in a cage fight.
  • czar has
not figured a way to cheat plurk karma, other then subtracting (invisible) karma from other services.
  • damejiar says
    haha, that's true, karma rulz
  • seemsartless asks
if the karma system is more to get new people to give Plurk a try rather than a useful, longer term feature.
  • Morton Fox
    like... friending everyone on Plurk.
  • bloggersblog says
not sure friends help with karma. Scoble has 300+ friends but lowish karma. Then again who knows. :-)
  • gezd says
if by "gaming" you mean using plurk more, isn't that the point?
  • DarthGuru
they hav at least cut down on the obvious karma cheats
  • Karoli says
I am not a fan of Karma systems. Too easy to game, for sure.
  • Bwana says
it's no different than Calacanis gaming the Twitter system by inflating following numbers. I like systems that promote usage
  • somenice says
precisely, someone should create a social networking game!
  • Bwana says
and from what I gather is all about inviting people and plurking to increase karma
  • ChangeForge... says
I lied about my gender and age... I told Scoble I was going to revert back to a 14 year old girl, but it didn't get me anymore karma.
  • MikeLX says
hmm..my karma is obviously too low...working on it.
  • jark will
agree. but that still makes it fun.
  • nrek says
heh - I think it's a "neat" idea for the younger crowd that would care about popularity on a site.
  • ChangeForge... says
nrek the younger crowd? Have you been on Twitter where everyone is obsessed with how many follows they have?
  • tojosan
every social network involves gamin of some sort. Not sure how to get around it
  • danwest is
waiting for the new tech start-up StealKarma dot com
  • LindaEskin says
cesarhcjr I disagree. It can, but it could also just gauge sneakiness, free time, etc. I could invite several of "myselves" w/diff emails.
  • tojosan
free time is the big unequalizer in any game like status or karma etc
  • LindaEskin says
I invited my boss to sign up. I told him "Go Plurk Yourself." LOL
  • kcarruthers says
but is funny cos we do something to get a virtual reward - funny peeps
  • charlieanzman
then again, how many systems aren't being gamed :-)
  • insurgent says
Sure, Karma Gaming is the only reason for this reply ;-)
  • ricin thinks
    karma++
  • kalisurfer says
is karma on plurk just an explicit measure that serves the same purpose as followers on twitters
  • kalisurfer says
isn't volume or quantity really the goal of the game in each app?
  • jark gives
kalisurfer props for pointing that out.
  • creamhackered says
No doubt your Karma is gonna be crazy Robert ;-)
  • lmacvittie says
scottgx mine is too. We should get karma points for that!
  • serwynn05 says
