Vint asks Jul 16, 2008 10:03AM about Mono? Will it break current LSL scripts? Is it best to take them to the preview grid to test for compability?
Tenebrous says Jul 16, 2008 10:07AM yes... you should test scripts on the preview grid. You need a special viewer too. Make sure to check the "mono" checkbox
Tenebrous Jul 16, 2008 10:27AM "The Mono UI is really simple, a single checkbox on the script edit window will select compilation to Mono."
Tenebrous Jul 16, 2008 10:28AM Note: the checkbox is a compile target switch, so it is only available when you can compile.
Tenebrous Jul 16, 2008 10:28AM This means that the script must be in the contents of a rezzed object.
Tenebrous Jul 16, 2008 10:28AM A script window opened from inventory does not allow compilation, and hence lacks the Mono checkbox.
ʇsʎɥʇǝǝɯıɐ says Jul 16, 2008 11:11AM just to emphasize, as there are a few people prophesying doom for old content, Mono should have no effect unless recompiled.
Tenebrous asks Jul 16, 2008 11:21AM aren't they going to phase out the old LSL VM at some point though?
ArminaX Jul 16, 2008 12:25PM did testing a while ago on some particle effects, and all seemed to be ok
ʇsʎɥʇǝǝɯıɐ says Jul 16, 2008 12:42PM "We have no plans to eliminate the LSL2 VM." So ... about a week after Mono goes live?
