    unlock, means to open it to other GSM carriers. in the US there is only ATT and TMobile

    The rest of the world is almost all GSM.. big benefit to them to have an unlocked phone. or if you travel a lot

    if you have an unlocked GSM phone, you can travel to say England and purchase a GSM card, pop it into your phone and you have local service

    buy the 8 gb 3G for $199, cancel the contract <30 days, pay AT&T's balance on the kept phone and get it unlocked for less than $600 i bet.

    I don't think SirProudgamer is cheap, I wouldn't buy an Iphone for anything over 200. And that would have to include -everything-
