    i'm WAY on the side of active in a few. But if you're in this space for a living, you need to at least be familiar with them.

    i just don't know that you can be a valuable participant if you're spread too thin.

    i say you best be an expert within a few but have familiarity with all of them. that way you can cover your bases.

    should be aware of/familiar with as many as possible, active participant in those you think bring most value.

    if sm is about community, you can't be a good neighbor in all sm. unless you quite your job and just do that 24/7.
